Verified microstructure
Nodularity and matrix measured on every heat for consistent mechanical behaviour.

SG iron caps and fittings for transmission and distribution insulators, where each cap carries the insulator's mechanical load.
Insulator caps connect the insulator to the line hardware and carry its full mechanical load, so sound material and consistent properties are essential.
We produce caps and fittings in SG iron with chemistry confirmed before pouring and microstructure and hardness recorded heat-wise. Grade, dimensions and testing are agreed to your drawing and specification.
| Grade (IS 1865) | Tensile min (MPa) | 0.2% proof min (MPa) | Elongation min (%) | Typical HB | Matrix |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SG 400/15 | 400 | 250 | 15 | 130–180 | Ferritic |
| SG 450/10 | 450 | 310 | 10 | 160–210 | Ferritic |
| SG 500/7 | 500 | 320 | 7 | 170–230 | Ferritic-pearlitic |
| SG 600/3 | 600 | 370 | 3 | 190–270 | Pearlitic-ferritic |
Typical values on separately cast test bars. Final properties depend on section thickness and the agreed specification.
Nodularity and matrix measured on every heat for consistent mechanical behaviour.
High pressure moulding keeps the critical cap geometry repeatable across production.
Heat-wise records under ISO 9001, with test reports available on request.

We cast insulator caps in SG (ductile) iron. The exact grade is agreed to your drawing and specification.
Each heat is checked for chemistry by spectrometer and CE analyser before pouring, and for microstructure and hardness afterwards, so properties stay within your specification.
